As the metaverse scope lead at Innovation & Trust, the main activities of the Nicholson consultant involve defining the project scope in relation to user needs, designing immersive experiences, and developing these experiences using the Pinser Metaverse JavaScript framework.

Results and added value

The immersive experiences at Innovation & Trust have led to the creation of:

  • Digital twins of automated procedures to visualize real-time interactions between machines and employees.
  • An innovative training solution based on immersive narrative and collaborative experiences, with a chatbot accompanying trainees during their sessions.
  • Dashboards animated by chatbots based on generative AI like ChatGPT to address user queries.
  • The added value of this initiative is to enhance efficiency, productivity, and collaboration among users and provide a competitive advantage to the company through the use of the metaverse.

Finalcad

Context / Mission goals

Finalcad offers a web and mobile application (iOS and Android) to help construction companies monitor construction sites.
The client’s applications were deployed on EC2 instances using the beanstalk service, and the aim is to migrate these applications to a containerization infrastructure (EKS) which will help:

  • Reduce time-to-market and time-to-delivery
  • Add control over the application lifecycle with an agile methodology and simple delivery mechanisms
  • Reduce infrastructure costs
  • Add scalability and elasticity

Responsibilities / Daily tasks

Offer innovative solutions to solve issues:

  • CI → jenkins, Circle CI
  • CD → jenkins, ArgoCD, FluxCD
  • Log Monitoring → prometheus/Grafana, TIKS, Dynatrace, Datadog
  • Ingress → aws ingress controller, traefik, Nginx
  • Secret Management → Vault, kubernetes-external-secrets, aws-secret-operator
  • Certificates → ACM, Let’s Encrypt (traefik v2), Cert-Manager

Implementation of selected solutions:

Linxo Group

Context / Mission goals

As part of the new DSP2 Open Banking regulations, our consultant joined Linxo’s B2B team to support the migration of their SaaS applications used by Key Accounts.

Responsibilities / Daily tasks

  • Bug fix
  • Application support for application users
  • Investigation on Kibana
  • Migrate Crédit Agricole user data (100K)
  • Implement and migrate features for HSBC’s ‘Personal economy’ application

    Results and added value

Our consultant was able to bring new perspective on different ways to improve migration management thanks to the implementation of orchestration tools. He found a solution to improve the quality and optimize the management of B2B customer migrations with the target of going from 13 days to 1 day while avoiding rollbacks.

To achieve it, the following steps were necessary:

    • Identifying people and processes
    • Modelling and developing BPMN workers
    • Designing and developing an application with spring boot to automate migrations of docker applications on different Amazon cloud environments

    Monoprix

    Context / Mission goals

Monoprix Group’s ambition is to open 500 stores over the next 5 years under all its banners (Monop’, Monop’ Beauty, Monop’ Daily, Monoprix, Monoprix Maison…). This means 100 openings per year = 25 per quarter.

The team is also called upon for other projects: remodeling, service additions, network changes, closures and multi-site rollouts.

The aim is to deliver the projects entrusted to the project manager on time. The issue is that the project manager has to manage several projects simultaneously, and may be faced with money, administrative (lease signing, quotations, etc.), material, schedule or supplier constraints.

    Responsibilities / Daily tasks

    • Manage several projects simultaneously
    • Be responsible and committed
    • Be in charge of the entire project, right through to VSR
    • Formalize requirements and obtain IT service offers under the responsibility of the IT Department
    • Manage the action schedule for which Monoprix is responsible
    • Manage suppliers and subcontractors involved in a project
    • Plan all IT contributors (suppliers and/or in-house)
    • Liaise with internal works teams or partner prime contractors (affiliates and franchisees)
    • Maintain deliverables (schedule, project tracking sheet, flash report, etc.) and track progress indicators
    • Support the start-up of the project
    • Communicate on project status, alert management in case of non-compliance and propose remedial solutions
    • Participate in keeping site processes and deployment-related service catalogs up-to-date

    Results and added value

Some projects are managed without any constraints, others less so. It’s vital to alert management if a project stalls.

    OppScience

    Context / Mission goals

OppScience is a French company based in Paris. It develops a platform for the acquisition, AI enrichment and analysis of Big Data.

The goal of our consultant’s mission is to ensure the application’s performance, by testing, analyzing and proposing optimizations to satisfy business indicators of product quality.

The platform’s performance is crucial to its adoption by users.

    Responsibilities / Daily tasks

The first stage of the mission consisted in defining the strategy and tools to be adopted in order to develop a performance test automation framework, adapted to a complex product and architecture.

The implemented framework enables frequent and robust testing of each version of the application, to validate its non-regression. New test scenarios regularly increase the platform’s coverage.

At the end of each test, an analysis is carried out to determine the application’s weak points, then optimization solutions are studied to improve response times.

    Results and added value

Thanks to regular, automated tests, the consultant ensures that the code pushed daily by the development teams has no negative impact on performance.

These benchmarks have highlighted optimizations that have cut process execution times by up to 9 times.

    STIME

    Context / Mission goals

For several years, STIME, the Information Systems Division of the Les Mousquetaires Group, has been working on modernizing its drive site www.intermarche.com. Responsibilities / Daily tasks

    The work focused on:

    • Studying application workflows such as API Rest and Kafka flows, as well as the implementation of microservices patterns
    • Optimizing microservices under heavy load
    • Monitoring and resolving bugs on the Cloud platform

    Results and added value

Software & Infrastructure: Development, Engineering, Architecture, DevOps, QA.

Design & Product: UX/UI, Product Owner, Product Manager.

Strategic Projects: Project Manager, FinOps Manager, Program Director, Interim CTO.

Can we engage directly with any of your freelancers for a contract?

No: our role is to serve as a reliable intermediary between our freelance community and clients, ensuring consistent service excellence while mitigating the risks commonly linked with direct contracts between parties.

What criteria do you use when choosing your freelancers?

When selecting our freelancers, we first begin by seeking profiles that possess the technical, functional, and interpersonal skills sought by the client. We take the time to qualify their expertise and understand what they are looking for in their next professional challenge.

Next, we assess their availability, preferably immediate or within one month, as our clients often have urgent demands and require resources promptly.

We then qualify the consultant’s rate to ensure it meets both their expectations and those of the client. Our aim is to satisfy both parties involved.

We also ensure the candidate’s motivation to join the assignment both before and after the interview. We maintain complete transparency to promote the sustainability of the contract.

    Do you do short-term assignments?

Indeed, we have the ability to respond to short-term needs. We adapt to the requirements of our clients, which can range from technical expertise missions to C-Level interim positions such as Interim-CTOs. These short-term assignments typically last for one month, compared to an average of 24 months for long-term missions.
